from The Betrothed by Alessandro Manzoni
Malgrate is located across from Lecco, from which it is geographically divided by the Lake Como. Malgrate has a wonderful lakeshore which overlooks the mountains and the landscape of Lecco. In the ancient Roman times, the town was known as Antesitum.
